Video: Will Obama stabilise or destabilise Africa?

Lawless states in Africa serve as the nerve centre for many terrorist organisations around the world. Recently Sri Lanka uncovered ties between the Tamil Tigers and Eritrea.

Recent investigations carried out by the Sri Lankan government revealed that the Tigers [LTTE] used African nations, with the assistance of Norway, to procure weapons, explosives and aircraft.

Two Norwegian spies were also arrested in Congo and convicted of murder, spying, conspiracy, attempted murder and armed robbery in early September 2009. Continued chaos in Africa is ideal for those like Norway and the United States under the Bush administration who want to exploit the continent of it's resources via corrupt governments and militias.

Sri Lankans feel that in the past several nations attempted to train and strengthen the Tamil Tigers because the Tigers controlled sea routes thought to contain oil deposits. Why else would the US and EU force Sri Lanka to negotiate with the Tamil Tigers and hand half it's land mass and coast to a terrorist group?

Rageh Omaar travels to the US and through East and West Africa to investigate the US strategy for the continent. Can Barack Obama make a decisive break with the path set in Africa by the Bush administration?
